Meet Natalie Savadge, Administrator of Indian River Home Care PLUS.
Natalie Savadge, Indian River Home Care PLUS Administrator, has a background in journalism while her mom, the Founder of Indian River Home Care PLUS, had a background in nursing and was the COO of the local Visiting Nurse Association.
Indian River Home Care PLUS is a nurse registry that offers private duty services in Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties, in Florida. Before Indian River Home Care PLUS came on the scene, Margot founded Indian River Home Care, a home health agency established in 2011 that provides nursing, PT, OT, and speech therapy. The nurse registry business was established as a sister company in 2015 to provide families with options for continuity of care on their terms.
After attending a Home Care Association of Florida (HCAF) conference when the nurse registry was first opened, Margot spoke with a lawyer who recommended she use a third-party billing system. The third-party system they went with wasn’t checking all of the boxes and led them to search for a better platform that would drive organizational change and transformation.
Indian River Home Care PLUS was using this third-party system for billing and had a separate system for scheduling. Balancing these two platforms was a struggle. “Using the two different software; it was kind of cumbersome,” Natalie shared. This also increases the margin for human error, having to manually verify information between both platforms, and was very time-consuming.
Indian River Home Care PLUS also needed to be cautious in using different systems because of the nature of the work models they were built for. Registries have specific language to adhere to in order to avoid misclassification and that was a concern that Natalie and the team shared, especially with the possibility of a DOL audit.
When Natalie first started working at Indian River Home Care PLUS, they were still using paper time sheets, and “the amount of manpower to process paper time sheets is insane.”
With 170 caregivers seeking work through their registry, “there’s no way we could have had the number of caregivers we have now with our previous platform. Ally has 100% helped us to scale to the size that we are today.”
“I would tell any registry to use Ally because, as far as I know, no other software is built specifically for registries,” Natalie shared.
Having the right legal support in place was crucial for the Indian River Home Care Plus team.
“Polsinelli was able to confirm that we were following our regulations, and Ally helped with that,” Natalie added.
